SUMMARY:
The VP of Retail supervises either directly, or through management, employees and program participants assigned to the department. The VP of Retail works independently with moderate latitude for decision making, sets an example for employees, and upholds management policies and procedures. The VP also establishes and implements division goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrate company’s values at all times.
* Develops the Donated Goods sales budget in accordance with projected revenues and expenses.
* Develops, implements, and accomplishes division goals and objectives annually, and monitors progress monthly.
* Increases production capabilities as needed to meet goals through sound planning.
* Ensures that managers, assistant managers, supervisors and departmental personnel develop the necessary skills and abilities to meet the expected performance standards.
* Monitors all aspects of production to ensure quality and quantity according to established benchmarks.
* Uses the available Management Information Systems to reinforce decisions or take corrective measures.
* Interviews and hires qualified applicants to assigned departments, and places them in a position best suited to their abilities.
* Coordinates sales promotional activities, trains store managers in display techniques.
* Ensures understanding and compliance of established policies and procedures by all employees.
* Communicates and solves problems at all levels, and informs the Co-President/CEO of major problems and changes.
* Maintains accurate and complete records for the department to include employee related documentation, invoices, inter-office memos, minutes of meetings, budgets, sales receipts, etc. conforming at all times to company policies and procedures.
Assists the LP manager with the security of all keys, equipment, and procedures for monies received in the stores along with making periodic checks of all security systems.
* Completes Goals and Objectives monthly with all direct reports and ensures they complete G&O’s with their direct reports.
Implements and maintains compliance of pertinent CARF accreditation standards for both departmental and agency requirements.
Coordinates with Director of Marketing all retail advertising.
Follows all company and department policies and procedures.
Demonstrates good work habits for employees and program participants, maintaining a good attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, and is a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services.
Ensures all safety rules are adhered to and the general upkeep of your area meets the standards of Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. Reports accidents or injuries immediately.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. and persons receiving services.
Assists in other areas as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Merchandising or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years retail store manager experience.
- Must be assertive and have the ability to plan, organize, train, delegate, and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain records and documentation.
- Must be flexible, production oriented, and have a strong background in customer service.
- Ability to convey a positive and professional image to employees, customers, and donors.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to be covered by our Vehicle Insurance policy.
- Must be able to visit all Goodwill sites on a regular basis.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and be able to stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
