Description

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well- functioning. This position is responsible for Tangent’s office and manufacturing building in Montgomery along with the surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops maintenance policy and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
  • Ensures facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, and that work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines.
  • May oversee contractors engaged for facility renovation projects.
  • Oversees the maintenance of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
  • Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • 5+ years facilities management experience
  • BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field preferred
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk long distances daily
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
