The Employee Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for the daily maintenance and cleanliness of food service operations and overall food safety within the employee dining spaces. The attendant will support food service operations by preparing dining areas, serving food and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for customers and complying with food safety and sanitization regulations. The expectation for the position is to maintain a clean and tidy work environment. They are also required to work in tandem with all colleagues in the kitchen and steward department.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with food selections whenever possible
- Assist with service of meals and beverages while working the buffet station
- Assist with the daily receiving, organization, and storage of all food and non-food items
- Replenish food, utensils, napkins, and condiments as needed
- Maintain all service needs to make for a great team member dining experience.
- Maintain and produce beverages, including coffee and tea for all team member dining areas
- Clean tables, counters, equipment, floors, and dining areas to maintain a sanitary environment
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and dishwashing duties
- Set up and stock station with necessary supplies and ingredients
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including refrigerators and storage spaces
- Monitor food temperatures and handle food in accordance with health and safety standards
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Perform weekly check list of food and non-food items to be ordered
- Leadership - maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
- Customer Service – communicate guest complaints, questions, and concerns to your immediate supervisor; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
- Teamwork - develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
- Safety - Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the company
- Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, the attendant must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions
- Driving golf cart around the property in a range of weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- This is an entry position into the culinary/ kitchen
- Previous experience in food service, hotel or resort preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods of time
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Above and beyond attitude is required as well as a flexible schedule with ability to work weekends/holidays and evenings
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Must be able to obtain any required food handling and/or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies.
