Financial Accountant bei Anglo American / De Beers Group

At Element Six we are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for the US entities, which cover two plants, and provide support on other related global entities. You will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of work and strong internal controls over the reporting processes.

This role will report to the Financial Accounting Manager in the UK but will work very closely with the business partnering and operations team in the US. This role will allow you to develop relationships across Element Six.

• Direct responsibility for the balance sheet, financial accounting records and monthly group reporting requirements for US statutory entities and support for another overseas based entity.
• Regular balance sheet reviews to ensure that all items are accounted for under the Group accounting policies
• Ownership of the tax reporting and compliance process for the US CVD entity
• Preparation of accounting papers for judgmental areas such as revenue recognition
• Support of group audit processes
• Support and deliver wider global accounting team improvements
• Continuously enhance processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and a robust internal control environment
• Maintain up to date process documentation and a strong internal control environment
• Ensure compliance with all Group policies including Health & Safety

• Ability to work on your own initiative at a site
• CPA qualified or equivalent with evidence of good breadth of PQE in industry
• Good understanding of month end procedures
• Ability to plan and prioritise work and use time efficiently and work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Intellectually curious and willing to critically challenge and engage with the business
• Ability to apply familiar concepts to new situations
• Excellent communicator and team player
• High proficiency in Excel / Strong IT Skills
