Who are we looking for?
Our Southeast Environmental group in Tampa, FL is looking to bring onboard an Environmental Archaelogical Scientist to this position is an integral part of our environmental services group and requires a diverse array of skills and abilities to provide technical management of environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, or due diligence projects, to support the growth of the practice, and to accomplish the objectives of the team.
In this role, you will be tasked with supporting and managing GHD’s existing environmental projects in Florida and surrounding states in the southeast. This role will require a strong technical background in environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, and/or due diligence.
Responsibilities
- Policy Development and Implementation: Help develop procedures for an area of the organization and monitor their implementation.
- Horizon Scanning: Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
- Information and Business Advice: Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
- Policies and Procedures Development: Contribute to the drafting of policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.
- Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
- Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Preparation: Gather information and resources, and draft and complete standard requests for bid solicitation requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for tender (RFT) on the requester side.
- Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Community of Practice Management: Participate actively in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own expertise.
- Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
- Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be": Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
- Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)
- Experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues (7 to 12 months)
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field of study
- Professional licensure (PE or PG) preferred
- Experience in a business development role that included lead generation, networking, new client development, and expansion of portfolios with existing clients is a plus and a strong differentiator
- Experience in client relationship development/management and business development with strong client relationships; local or regional client experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation including presenting technical information in a concise and professional manner
