ThinkWell is searching for a Commuications Specialist Consultant to enhance ThinkWell’s external communications and thought leadership positioning by developing strategic content, monitoring global health trends, and supporting staff visibility in key policy and technical conversations.

Scope of Services

The Consultant will provide the following services on a flexible, as-needed basis (approximately 5 hours per week):

1. Content Creation & Curation

  • Develop weekly insights by gathering perspectives from ThinkWell staff on global health topics, emerging trends, and project learnings.
  • Create engaging social media content to highlight ThinkWell’s work and expertise.
  • Draft brief thought leadership pieces for dissemination across LinkedIn, Twitter, and ThinkWell’s website.
  • Curate and share relevant third-party content aligned with ThinkWell’s strategic focus areas.

2. Trend Monitoring & Strategic Positioning

  • Monitor key global health events and conferences (e.g., UNGA, WHA, APEC, World Vaccine Congress).
  • Identify trending topics where ThinkWell’s expertise can contribute meaningfully.
  • Produce timely content that positions ThinkWell staff as informed commentators.
  • Track industry news and policy developments to inform communication strategy.

3. Thought Leadership Development

  • Collaborate with ThinkWell staff to identify and articulate their areas of expertise.
  • Support staff in building their external profiles through content development and strategic messaging.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across staff communications while preserving individual voices.
  • Identify and recommend speaking and publishing opportunities for staff.

4. Strategic Communications Support

  • Align communications efforts with ThinkWell’s business development goals.
  • Contribute to proposal development by creating content that demonstrates expertise and thought leadership.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all external communications.
  • Provide ad hoc support for special projects, campaigns, or events.

Deliverables

  • Weekly insight posts and social media content
  • Monthly thought leadership articles or blog posts
  • Strategic content calendar aligned with global health events
  • Staff-specific communications plans and messaging support
  • Curated content recommendations and trend reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare, international development, or consulting
  • Strong writing and synthesis skills; ability to translate complex topics into accessible content
  • Familiarity with global health organizations, events, and policy landscapes
  • Experience with social media management tools and platform-specific best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities flexibly

Work Arrangement

  • Time Commitment: ~5 hours/week, flexible scheduling
  • Location: Remote
  • Coordination: Occasional virtual check-ins as needed
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience
  • Duration: Ongoing fractional engagement with potential for expansion
