Position Overview:

The Operations Supervisor will lead and manage day-to-day activities on the pilot manufacturing line, overseeing a team of technicians responsible for assembling early-stage medical devices. This role is accountable for production performance, build schedule adherence, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about driving results through team engagement and process improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Acton, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operation of the pilot line, ensuring production goals are met

  • Oversee and support R&D Assembly Technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback

  • Own production metrics including output, yield, quality, and schedule adherence

  • Ensure compliance with work instructions, GMP/ISO standards, and safety protocols

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and optimize processes

  • Maintain accurate production documentation including build records, deviations, and process updates

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment, tooling, and process-related challenges

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across pilot line operations

Key Decision Rights:

  • Assign technician tasks and manage daily priorities based on production needs

  • Escalate issues impacting schedule, quality, or safety to appropriate stakeholders

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment

  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and production workflows

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing schedules

  • Excellent communication and team-building skills

  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and regulated environments (GMP/ISO)

  • Proficiency in basic computer/software tools for documentation and reporting

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline is preferred but not required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity

  • Experience in medical device development or pilot-scale manufacturing is a strong plus

Additional Information:

  • Role is based in Acton, MA and requires on-site presence 5 days per week.

  • Cleanroom gowning and adherence to GMP/ISO standards may be required

  • NOTE: This position requires on-site working (requires on-site office/plant/lab work). #LI-Onsite

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $66,000.00 - $99,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
