ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Finance Manager plays a key role in overseeing financial reporting and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial statements. This individual will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures that support effective financial management. The role requires handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines, including general ledger oversight, reporting, budget and forecast support, and year-end audit preparation. The Finance Manager will work closely with senior executives-including the CFO and Controller-requiring excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
OBJECTIVES:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements and related reporting.
- Partner with other finance leaders to achieve departmental goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyze team workflows to improve efficiency and resource utilization while ensuring accuracy.
- Provide guidance on complex or non-routine reporting matters.
- Respond to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other stakeholders regarding results and special reporting needs.
- Ensure a smooth and timely year-end audit in collaboration with the Controller and Assistant Controller.
- Supervise and mentor the general ledger team to meet all reporting deadlines.
- Drive process improvements by developing and implementing enhanced procedures and tools.
- Train, develop, and support staff to build department capabilities.
- Assist leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other ERP systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in private or public companies.
- Prior management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
