Vice President, Legal
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President, Legal to lead and support a broad range of legal initiatives across a dynamic and evolving global business. This role offers a high degree of responsibility and autonomy, along with the opportunity to shape your own development within an agile, fast-growing, and ever-evolving company. This is a high-impact role that blends deep subject matter expertise in financial regulatory matters with broad-based corporate legal experience for an exciting software business. Serving 500+ customers, TRG Screen’s global client base includes hundreds of financial institutions, law firms, and other blue-chip enterprises, collectively managing over $10 billion in enterprise subscription spend.
The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive, business-oriented mindset. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and work cross-functionally with global teams to provide end-to-end legal support across commercial contracts, regulatory, corporate governance, compliance, employment, and risk domains. TRG Screen’s team of 300+ employees spans 9 global offices — including North America (New York), EMEA (Belfast, London, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France), and APAC (Bangalore, Singapore)

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as principal legal advisor to the CFO, CEO, and cross-functional executive leadership team.
- Build and implement TRG’s legal strategy with scalable, efficient legal processes that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside counsel to support growth, international expansion, and special projects.
Commercial & Contracts
- Lead negotiation and review of customer, vendor, and partner agreements, balancing risk with business priorities.
- Establish scalable contracting templates and processes to support global sales and operations.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Partner across TRG teams to support corporate transactions including M&A, partnerships, financing, and post-closing integration activities.
- Lead on board and executive governance matters, including corporate structuring, consents, and conflicts of interest management.
- Advise on global employment and privacy law considerations and ongoing corporate compliance.
- Enhance and scale internal policies, legal operations, and training programs.
Employment & Legal Support
- Advise on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to manage legal risk and ensure business compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Regulatory & Risk Advisory
- Advise on a range of international regulatory matters including compliance, licensing, examinations, remediation, and risk controls.
- Provide strategic counsel to leadership on internal controls, governance, risk management frameworks, and vendor oversight.
- Engage directly with clients and regulators on ongoing compliance obligations and responses to audits or examinations.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 6–10+ years of legal experience with a combination of law firm and in-house experience at a software or technology company preferred.
- Significant exposure to financial regulatory matters, commercial contracts, risk, and corporate governance.
- Experience advising senior leadership in a regulated industry such as financial services, consulting, or professional services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes legal work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pragmatic and collaborative approach.
- International experience managing a global organization and corporate governance across multiple jurisdictions a plus.
- East Coast/NYC candidates strongly preferred.
