Methods Development Chemist bei Tower Laboratories

The Methods Development Chemist ensures the establishment and continual improvement of analytical test methods required to verify the quality, safety, and efficacy of all products produced by Tower Laboratories. The position directly supports all Quality Control equipment and personnel by providing technical expertise in the acquisition, troubleshooting, and proper use of all instrumentation and analytical apparatus, through the establishment and review of Standard Operating Procedures. The position supports Quality Assurance in the investigation and resolution of quality concerns related to Quality Control testing identified from internal and external audits, or non-conformances.

Ideal candidate will be proficient in developing and validating new analytical methods with minimal supervision, as well as performing all phases of chemical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for full integration and support of Tower Laboratories’ business and operations.

This position may be based either in our Centerbrook, CT or Montague, MI facilities.

Essential Functions:

1. In collaboration with the QC department, Develop and conduct validation studies for all test methods for all products as applicable.
2. Support the implementation of new testing strategies and methods to improve accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and productivity.
3. Adhere to the Method validation master plan when developing new validation studies.
4. Report all observations and data promptly, meeting specified deadlines. 
5. Adhere to cGMP, Good Laboratory Practices, and all quality and safety requirements while maintaining an orderly working environment.
6. Support and assist in investigations, audits, and customer concerns regarding analytical data as needed.
7. Assist in the creation, review, and approval of Tower’s various QC and technical documents regarding SOPs, validations, operations, and other QC/R&D studies as needed.
8. Assist in the instruction and training of QC personnel as needed.

 Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 yrs. of proven success in developing and writing procedures and methodology and performing methods development and validation.
• Experience/knowledge in identifying, sourcing, and coordinating implementation of appropriate analytical instrumentation as part of the method development process.
• Excellent analytical and wet chemical techniques in support of chemical and manufacturing operations;
• Demonstrated proficiency with HPLC
• Demonstrated self-starter and independent worker with strong commitment to Quality and Compliance.
• Strong writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
• Strong team player, demonstrated team attitude and behaviors.
• BS in Chemistry with Lab specialization highly preferred.
