Wisconsin Center District Job Description – Video Crew Technician
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Video Production, the Video Crew Technician is responsible to support broadcast quality audio-visual presentations in a professional manner including in-house LED and television displays, external feeds, broadcasts and webcasts originating from the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena control room for Sports, Entertainment and other events.
Video Production Responsibilities:
• Work in “Live” production environment
• Operate camera equipment
• Control room operation of video, replay and/or graphics content and video distribution devices
• Work closely as a team with Director and production crew
• Assist in set-up and tear-down at events
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of the company’s resources and to ensure customer satisfaction
Video Technician Crew Responsibilities:
• Work in “Live” production environment
• Control room and in-Arena operation of audio mixers and audio distribution systems
Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong project management and organizational skills in which attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external)
• Excellent situational adaptability, ability to react decisively and effectively
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to navigate organizations to build relationships and garner support; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and efficiently; exercise initiative, resourcefulness and good judgement
• Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays as event calendar or deadlines dictate
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide) basic computer operation
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
Education & Experience:
• Required
o Associate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Film and Television Production or a related field or equivalent number of years of experience
o Two (2) years’ experience as part of a video crew for “Live” Sports and Entertainment events
o Firm background in skills related to sports and live entertainment production
