Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Department: Supply Chain/Materials/Warehouse
Reports to: Supervisor/Manager

Position Purpose
Responsible for the coordination of all shipping and receiving functions while maintaining integrity of inventory control.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments to information provided or other records.
- Follow proper packaging requirements.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet customer specifications and that all paperwork and product match.
- Creates packing lists and complete transactions in appropriate software.
- Responsible for accuracy of inventory levels relating to shipping and receiving.
- Provides all packing list and shipping company information and bill of lading to Customer Service for invoicing and record keeping purposes.
- Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with purchasing to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Loads shipping.
- Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic math and ability to calculate figures and amounts i.e. shipping rates, circumference and volume
- Ability to obtain a forklift license
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
- Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
