Senior Aerospace Engineer bei Avineon, Inc.

Avineon is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to add to our team. The Senior Aerospace Engineer will perform engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture.
• Recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques.
• Engage with operators and mission partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements.
• Provide technical oversight and risk assessment.
• Ensure projects meet industry standards and customer requirements.
• Lead engineering teams and mentor junior staff.
• Plan and lead major technical assignments.
• Evaluate performance results and recommend changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• May supervise others.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree may be substituted for relevant experience.
• Must possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior military experience in a related field is highly valued and will be favorably considered.
• Candidates with applicable military training or operational experience aligned with the responsibilities of this role are encouraged to apply
• Certifications such as a PE license, CSEP, PMP, and/or CAT are a plus.

Security Clearance Requirement: 

• Must hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Must meet Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility requirements.

Compensation:

Salary range of $140,000 to $150,000 with benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401k plan with matching contribution, tuition reimbursement, fitness club reimbursement, paid holidays, and paid personal time.
