As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will provide overall direction to the engineering function through development of engineering policies and procedures consistent with organizational requirements and corporate standards. The successful incumbent will direct engineering resources on the business unit in order to efficiently improve the processes, procedures, methods and materials used in the repair and overhaul processes while ensuring product quality is maintained and striving for quality improvements.
What you’ll do:

- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Recognizes and understands the Just Culture policy.
Specific Accountabilities
- Lead and manage engineering activities, resources, and staff development.
- Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee project planning, staffing, budgeting, and timely execution.
- Provide technical guidance and apply engineering principles across projects.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and methods.
- Ensure training programs keep pace with technological and business needs.
- Monitor and audit engineering quality, compliance, and environmental programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development and prototype testing.
- Contribute to strategic planning, staff performance management, and business unit goals.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Future responsibilities of the role may include multiple site leadership and some travel to additional StandardAero facilities.
Position Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in aviation/aerospace and related work experience.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in engineering design, manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver projects from initiation to completion, evidenced by managing projects on-time and within budget.
- Previous experience leading a team of direct reports.
Preferred Characteristics:
- FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience.
Thorough knowledge of airworthiness certification requirements and regulatory bodies (TC, CAAC, FAA, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving by providing evidence-based recommendations while using data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Previous experience with regulatory bodies at the federal, state and local levels.
- 4+ years of hands-on or theoretical experience with gas turbine engines.
