About the Team
The Transportation Team in India is a part of the larger team that operates in Mooresville, NC USA. We support our Mooresville team with various operational activities as well as with their data gathering efforts, reporting requirements, insight generation activities and business problem solving. Our operations span across, Freight Pay, System Maintenance and Exception Management. We also develop, maintain and distribute reports and KPIs for Purchase Orders, Carriers and the 3PL partners operating nodes within our network. We also work on projects that help improve our space utilization while shipping products, operational efficiency at our nodes as well as optimize and save costs in Transportation operations.
Job Summary
Transportation Senior Analyst works closely with several of our stakeholders in the global team to define, understand and solve retail supply chain and transportation problems. In this role, you are expected to partner with HQ as well as field teams to understand business problems, draft the requirements clearly and work towards solving the problems through analytical solutions that deliver business value. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing analytical best practices, analyzing large data sets and extracting key observations as well as generating accurate and actionable insights. You are also expected to work closely with our operations team to gain the required functional knowledge as well as to groom/mentor the analyst talent pool within the team. The ideal candidate would be an analytical thinker with strong technical skills and a passion for solving complex problems and is excellent at using data to drive efficiencies and cost savings across domestic as well as international transportation operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Partner with local as well as global teams with Supply Chain and Inventory Replenishment to understand priorities, KPIs and business challenges.
- Collect, validate, clean and transform data for statistical analysis.
- Build dashboards using reliable data to help track service levels, cost efficiencies and performance metrics.
- Generate descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytical insights and keep testing the solution to enhance the efficacy.
- Lead and develop complex reporting and analytical solutions for Supply Chain related business problems
- Translate analytical findings into clear and actionable business insights and prepare concise summary documents and presentations for the senior leadership group.
- Track measures of success for all the implemented solutions and report them on a regular basis.
- Proactively identify operational gaps, network inefficiencies and bottlenecks through reliable statistical techniques.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams to improve data accuracy and availability.
- Build and maintain relationships with a large set of local and global partners by defining and implementing best-in-class stakeholder management techniques.
- Mentor, coach and train junior members in the team.
Years of Experience
Overall 5+ years of experience
- At least 4 years of experience in data analytics & reporting
- At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain or Retail Industry
- At least 2 years of experience in project management
- At least 2 years of experience in working with global teams
Education Qualifications & Certifications (Optional)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Science or any related field
- MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Science or any related field
- Certifications from reputed institutions in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Statistics, Data Science or any related field
Required Skill Set
Primary Skills (Must Have)
Key Skills: Advanced SQL, Power BI, large-data analysis, supply-chain/transportation exposure, Structured problem solving, clear communication/storytelling, stakeholder management
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to transform raw data into tangible and actionable insights.
- Experience in Excel, Power BI, Lookr & programming languages such as python or R.
- Ability to drill down into large data sets running into millions of rows and perform root cause analysis.
- Proficient in using complex SQL queries to extract, transform and load data (ETL) in Hadoop & GCP.
- Experience in working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate & prioritize effectively in demanding situations.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents for presentation to management.
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain & Transportation Operations.
