The Director, MRO, will serve in an overhead role reporting directly to the Aerospace Systems SVP. This role will primarily focus on Army Business Development (BD) capture initiatives, while also providing operational support at the director level. The position is designed to provide senior-level expertise and customer-facing authority on behalf of the company. The individual will be utilized as a resource for customer engagements across various programs and to support surges of work requiring director-level leadership.
Major Job Activities:
- Provide operational subject matter expertise to Army BD capture initiatives, helping shape solutions for sustainment and logistics opportunities.
- Collaborate with BD teams on capture planning, pricing strategy, logistics models, and proposal inputs as assigned.
- Serve as a liaison between BD, Operations, and Program leadership to ensure MRO efforts are aligned with broader business goals.
- Represent the company in customer engagements, ensuring authority and consistency in external communications at the director level.
- Contribute to the pursuit of new business by participating in transition planning, risk assessment, and staffing models.
- Support surge activities across programs requiring director-level operational oversight.
- Lead or support special projects aligned with Aerospace Systems' strategic and operational initiatives.
- Lead customer presentations, briefings, and reviews to communicate V2X capabilities and performance
Education / Certifications: One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if a degree is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, engineering, logistics, business, or related discipline.
- Preferred: Master's degree (MBA or technical discipline).
Experience:
- 10+ years of direct aircraft maintenance, repair, inspection, and modification, and aerospace MRO or sustainment operations.
- Prior experience supporting business development capture or proposal efforts in government contracting.
- Ability to work across functions and lead matrixed teams in a high-tempo environment.
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, proposal cost volumes, and MRO cost drivers.
- Prior experience with transition planning or the start-up of new programs.
- Technical expertise in aerospace sustainment and operations to credibly engage with external customers.
Skills & Technology Used:
- Strong communication, planning, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Familiar with Earned Value Management and proposal development processes.
- Comfortable navigating government platforms such as PIEE, SAM.gov, and WAWF
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct group management responsibilities.
- May provide leadership for project teams or surge initiatives as directed.
- Contribute to BD capture budgets by providing estimates and identifying labor and material needs for MRO elements.
