CMC Drug Substance Small Molecules Lead (all genders)
We are looking for a visionary leader to provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all development and lifecycle activities related to chemical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
This role is crucial in aligning with our Research & Development (R&D) and Product Supply (PS) strategies, overseeing the entire lifecycle of drug substance development from early clinical stages to commercial scale. The successful candidate will lead key departments, enhance our competitiveness through capability advancements, and support project teams in digital transformation and automation efforts.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Global responsibility across Research & Development and Product Supply in leading and steering the field of Chemical API Development and lifecycle activities within Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) & Technology
- Drive the digital/AI transformation of future API development
- Build industry-leading technology platforms including new modalities
- Coaching people and mission teams and build the capabilities needed by the product teams to create value for patients and stakeholders
- Recruiting top talents and creating a performance-based culture through trust, accountability, and actively driving the culture change towards an empowered team-oriented organization
- Act as a visionary leader who guides teams in defining the outcomes to deliver on their mission
- Be an architect who shapes a value creating system to unleash the passion and energy of our people
- Act as a Catalyst who removes roadblocks to facilitate connection and collaboration
WHO YOU ARE
- Advanced degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
- Long-term leadership experience in Chemical API space within the pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated experience in driving digital transformation and implementing advanced API technologies
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on innovation and efficiency
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Fluent in English and German, both written and verbal
