POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Senior Manager Quality based in Indianapolis, IN. The Senior Manager Quality is responsible for overseeing all aspects related to the quality of a product(s) from the design process to end of life. This role combines advanced technical expertise in product and process knowledge, quality sciences, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., APQP, Six Sigma, Shainin) with strong leadership skills to drive product lifecycle success. The Senior Manager Quality is a hands-on leader and change agent who manages, mentors, and develops a team of Quality Engineers and Auditors, supporting the value stream management process and fostering a culture of quality excellence.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $140,000 - $160,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop, implement, and manage lean quality operating systems (Built In Quality) and processes for assigned product lines and value streams that ensure production of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements, integrating advanced quality tools, product and process knowledge, and best practices
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for escalations, customer complaints, product, or process non-conformances, applying advanced problem-solving techniques such as Six Sigma, Shainin, and reliability engineering principles
- Oversee quality planning and launch for new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, and engineering changes to ensure quality requirements are integrated from design to end of life, supporting APQP and cross-functional engagement
- Drive Product Lifecycle TCOPQ and performance KPIs (including FTQ, Scrap, Rework, and Warranty) through hands-on leadership, cross-functional problem-solving, and proactive issue resolution
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- 8+ years of experience in product quality, quality engineering, or related roles in durable manufacturing, including leadership of Quality teams and advanced expertise in NPI/APQP, supplier quality, and problem-solving methods (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Shainin)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
WHAT WE PREFER
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related
- ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
