Sign on Bonus: For the 2025-2026 school year, a sign on bonus will be provided to new hires.
The first installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid within thirty (30) days of the successful candidate’s start date (sign on bonus will be prorated).
The second installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid on the first paycheck in June 2026, following the successful candidate’s first year (sign on bonus will be prorated).
For the 2025-2026 school year, all teachers in the following positions will receive a stipend in the amount of $2,500.00 (stipend will be prorated).
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsement
- Successful teaching or student teaching experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in working with general education teachers, students, parents and staff
- Strong knowledge base of secondary curriculum
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of intervention strategies and progress monitoring experience
- Ability to model teaching strategies to meet the needs of students’ various learning styles
- Ability to informally assess learning and/or behavioral needs of students & address those needs using documented data
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with all special education and general education staff
- Work under the direction of the building principal
- Provide instruction as determined by the students’ IEPs
- Participate in the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans for identified students including behavior intervention plans
- Provide consultation, technical assistance and training to teachers and parents of students experiencing learning or behavioral problems
- Provide information to parents relative to strategies that can be used at home to support the school’s efforts
- Take responsibility for implementation of IEPs for students on assigned caseload
- Other duties as assigned
