Job Title: Human Resources Intern
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Pay Group: Contract/Hourly
Primary Purpose: Assist in the completion of special projects within the Human Resources department, as well as perform administrative work in support of the daily operations of the department.
Education/Certification/Experience:
High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
Currently enrolled as a university student studying Human Resources, related field, or a recent graduate pursuing a career in the Human Resources field.
Experience with HRIS systems and Adobe Suite preferred; experience with the Microsoft Suite required.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide clerical support to the Human Resources department, composing and typing letters and other documents related to HR activities.
2. Proofread HR documents including audits, marketing information, and handbooks.
3. Maintain manual and electronic employee files, including archiving.
4. Assist with the selections process as needed.
5. Updating our internal databases with new employee information like contact details and employment forms
6. Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects
7. Handle client requests and deliver quality solutions if able, or escalate the request to a more senior team member
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

9. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
10. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
11. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
12. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

Work inside and outside, noise, radiant/electrical energy, work alone, work with others, around machines with moving parts and objects, possible exposure to microwaves in use, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
