We currently have a new vacancy for an R&D Researcher within the Process Development unit for Animal Health, located at our headquarters in Amer (Girona).
We are looking to hire a highly qualified and results-oriented R&D Researcher who wants to be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing innovative solutions, with a strong commitment to scientific excellence and continuous improvement.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have proven experience in the design, optimization, and characterization of bioprocesses in the field of viruses, bacteria, or mammalian cells to produce antigens/vaccines in animal health.
- Hold a university degree in biotechnology or process engineering.
- Hold a PhD or postdoctoral experience in biotechnology, virology, cell culture, microbiology, process engineering, or related fields. In the absence of a PhD, a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industrial development with fermenters and bioreactors is required.
- with a high level of spoken and written English for daily task execution. Knowledge of other languages will be valued.
- with strong statistical knowledge and experience with related software tools (R, Python).
- Able to work in multidisciplinary teams, with strong analytical and creative skills, as well as planning, task tracking, and proactivity.
- Are analytical, meticulous, and organized individuals who enjoy teamwork.

Main responsibilities of the role:
- Take on tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor, collaborating with other team members to meet established objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and execute assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with GMP regulations regarding products, processes, and procedures when applicable, and in any case, work according to established quality standards.
- Handle common tasks related to laboratory maintenance, equipment, or general procedures as assigned.
- Comply with safety and hygiene standards in the various work areas where project phases are carried out.
- Accurately complete the required information in specific internal documents.
- Contribute and implement improvement ideas within their area of responsibility using appropriate communication channels.
- Review procedures and instructions related to their work area to ensure technical validity.
- Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) when conducting tests that require them. For studies not covered by GLP, work according to established quality standards.
- Contribute and implement improvement ideas in the execution of new projects using appropriate communication channels.
