ROLE:

Schnabel is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Operations to join our operations team in the Atlanta Metro to manage the construction process of our geostructural projects. As a senior leader you will be responsible for developing our project teams, installing safe and profitable work, and making sure our customers are happy. Much of our work is design-build, so being able to assist with geotechnical and structural design elements will be key to your success.

Our typical scope of work includes installation of piles, lagging, walers, tiebacks, and braces for support of excavation projects. We also take on challenging projects with underpinning, grouting, tunneling, and unique structural support as part of our scope. Candidates who have direct construction experience and familiarity with our company’s traditional scope of work are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple large-scale and technically complex geotechnical projects.
  • Drive operational excellence through proactive risk management, quality control, and continuous process improvement.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients and key project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships that support repeat business and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure profitability by managing costs, identifying financial risks, and implementing effective controls.
  • Establish and manage project schedules with consideration of milestones, critical paths, and resource availability.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, contractual, and safety risks before and during construction.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 8 years with progressive experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years managing large-scale geotechnical, foundation, or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical construction methods, including earth retention, deep foundations, drilled shafts, ground improvement, soil stabilization, and underpinning.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, contracts, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Local and regional travel as required for projects.
  • Focus, stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, and work from heights or within confined space during assigned shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of materials over rough terrain.
  • Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record.
  • Follow all safety procedures, use proper protective equipment, and help maintain a safe job site by identifying and reporting potential hazards.

COMPENSATIONS AND BENEFITS:

  • Total Compensation between $140,000.00 - $220,000.00/year
