THE ROLE:   
    
ProbablyMonsters is seeking a visionary Audio Lead to shape the sonic identity of our original IPs. As Audio Lead, you will oversee audio production for one or more video game titles, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver immersive and unforgettable gaming experiences. You’ll lead the audio vision for each project, designing and implementing sound effects, music, and voiceovers that elevate gameplay and narrative. Your responsibilities will include optimizing audio performance, collaborating with external vendors, and contributing to the overall creative direction of the game. This role is ideal for a creative leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about crafting audio that enhances emotional engagement and player immersion. 
    
WHO YOU ARE:   
  • A senior or lead level game audio professional with a deep understanding of how sound enhances storytelling and gameplay.  Senor, but ready to be a lead is a great place to be for this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:   
  • Lead and mentor the audio team members assigned to the project, providing guidance, feedback, and support throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to establish and execute the audio vision for each project.
  • Design and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, music, and voiceovers that align with the creative direction and gameplay mechanics.
  • Oversee the audio pipeline, including recording, editing, mixing, and implementation of audio assets within the game engine.
  • Optimize audio performance to ensure seamless integration with gameplay while meeting technical constraints and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with external audio vendors, composers, and voice talent as needed, ensuring that deliverables meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in game audio, technology, and tools, and incorporate innovative techniques to enhance audio quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues throughout development, working closely with the development team to implement effective solutions. Contribute to the overall creative direction of the game, providing input on audio aesthetics, narrative integration, and player immersion.
QUALIFICATIONS:    
  • Strong proficiency with industry-standard audio software and tools, such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Izotope RX.
  • Extensive knowledge of sound design principles, music composition, and audio programming techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for creating video games and a deep understanding of how audio enhances the player experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • A portfolio/demo reel showcasing previous work in game audio, including sound effects, music compositions, and implementation examples
PREFFERED SKILLS:    
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprint Scripting, and MetaSounds preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Sound Design, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in audio production for video games, with at least 2 years in a principal, leadership, or supervisory role.
  • Systems Design & Critical Thinking.

Compensation:    
  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
  • In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
