Who We Are:
Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 17,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. At the high level, approximately 500 students require special education services to ensure they benefit from their educational experience. Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Credit Recovery After School teacher is responsible to the building principal for all matters pertaining to the operation of the school plan, in-building administrative and personnel procedures, and general or district-wide policies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a personalized instructional program that is compatible with the abilities, needs and learning characteristics of each student;
- Collaborate with Blended Learning day teachers to ensure that appropriate alignments of instruction are being made;
- Implement prescribed curriculum;
- Employ creative methods of instruction and utilize a variety of materials within the structure of the designated curriculum;
- Become acquainted with the characteristics, needs, abilities and supports of each child through personal interaction.
- Inform the principal or his designee of issues and take proactive steps to remediate unsatisfactory student attendance and provide weekly updates to the program coordinator;
- Maintain up-to-date lesson plans;
- Supply the Credit Recovery coordinator with a weekly schedule of course work and of completion of credits for each student;
- Maintain up-to-date online lesson plans
- Progress monitoring and data collection as needed;
- Develop a close relationship with each student's parents or guardians
- Provide for daily parent/guardian contact for all absences;
- Facilitate student learning using Edmentum computer-based curriculum;
- Instruct and respond in an appropriate manner with ethnically diverse students;
- Facilitate student learning using an online learning platform and other instructional learning practices, including the use of Edmentum;
- Instruct and respond to students using culturally responsive practices.
Qualifications: Must have valid Illinois Professional Educators License and training in edmentum with at least one year experience is preferred.
Additional Information: WHS - Brookside Campus or WHS - Washington Campus T, W, Th 3:30 - 6:30 pm.
