Major/Essential Functions
- Patient Care: Provide professional nursing care including administration of drugs, patient education, and provide clinical coverage within the assigned area of work. Primarily supports surgery, psychiatry, and nurse informatics departments. Manages overall nursing activities in clinic and assures that policies, procedures, and legal parameters are being followed. Address patient concerns and complaints promptly, striving to resolve issues and improve the patient experience.
- Staff Management and Development: Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development among nursing team members. Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient care needs effectively and efficiently.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data analysis, and performance monitoring to ensure continuous quality improvement. Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical processes and identify areas for enhancement.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, to achieve clinic goals and objectives. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, committees, and task forces to address clinical issues, improve care coordination, and enhance patient outcomes.
- Resource Management: Manage nursing resources efficiently, including supplies, equipment, and budgetary allocations. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, environmental safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Nurse Informatics: Improve departmental systems through documentation optimization, accurate data capture, and strategic process improvement. Monitor and identify trends in performance and develop effective performance improvement plans. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure proper collection, submission, and validation of data. Provide education to interdisciplinary teams on technology systems and data reporting requirements to ensure clinical quality reporting performance success. Participate in designing and implementation of data management systems that are interoperable, patient centered, and user friendly. Participate in testing of system processes to ensure user expectations are met.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.

- Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this

Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience working in a hospital, ambulatory clinic, or community-based setting.
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
- Experience in Phlebotomy (lab\blood).
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in reviewing patient charts for quality indicators.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English & Spanish.

- Current RN license in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer your license to Texas
- A minimum of two years of Staff Nurse experience in a specialty area
