AHCA/NCAL is seeking a Director of National Contracting to improve lives by delivering solutions for quality care by supporting high-quality care through effective management of value-based contracting across AHCA/NCAL Solutions network(s). The position is responsible for payer negotiations, developing value-based programs, oversight of Contracting Committees, and ensuring successful contract implementation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree in a related field preferred. Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience required, including knowledge of post-acute care. Proven experience in network development, payer contracting, and negotiation required. Value-based reimbursement experience strongly preferred. Project management experience required, with ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple initiatives effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage contract negotiations with payers, including messenger model activities , contract implementation, and ongoing contract management.
- Secure profitable health plan agreements aligned with AHCA standards and industry best practices.
- Negotiate evergreen contracts that include annual rate increases tied to the Medical Consumer Price Index guidelines.
- Design, negotiate and implement innovative contracting models – such as value-based contracts, episodic payment models and case rates, that incentivize provider performance.
- Partner with the Sr. Director of Network Management to build and maintain strong payer relationships through key account management and regular scorecard reviews.
- Educate members on contract terms, policies and procedures and other aspects of network participation.
- Facilitating Contracting Committee activities for various state networks. This includes seeking input from the Committee on Network priorities, contract negotiations and gaining support for new models and contracts.
