Our Opportunity: Blending Supervisor
Status: Full Time Night Shift
Hours: 12-hour shift: 7p-7a
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Summary
Through the Batching Manager, this position is in charge of all ingredient receiving, ingredient inventory, pre-weigh, batching, batch monitoring and sanitation processes during their shift. This position is also responsible for keeping the Batching Manager and other management informed of the above process at the plant in addition to being the liaison between the company and customer.
What You Will Be Doing
- Being sensitive to Confidentiality Agreements, works as liaison between the company and customer.
- Works with Leads and employees on a daily basis to solve problems and create opportunities for success and continuous improvement.
- Monitors activities in area of responsibility at all times during shift.
- Ensures products are batched timely and ready for production with focus on elimination of downtime.
- Works closely with customers and vendors to ensure highest quality and standards are being met
- when producing beverages.
- Leads by example while effectively communicating with all co-workers and management.
- Focus on training new and existing employees while improving knowledge across department.
- Works to minimize change over time.
- Ensures that every detail and specification of each product is met.
- Ensures employees & co-workers follow recipes and directions, “to the letter” & to the decimal.
- Oversees ingredient receiving, pre-weigh, batching, preparation for batching, movement to storage and all associated record keeping.
- Assist in scheduling assuring proper staffing for production requirement.
- Ensures all batching formulas are followed and all product specifications meet requirements.
- Ensures ingredient movements and ensures accurate ingredient inventory.
- Works to minimize downtime at plants due to lack of kits and batching issues.
- Keeps track of assigned inventory and assists in ordering appropriately.
- Is responsible for maintaining proper sanitation, keeping track of what chemicals are used and in what concentration.
- Responsible to evaluate and make suggestions for the continuous improvement of processes in area of responsibility.
- Must learn and apply new processes and procedures in area of responsibility.
- Ensures all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and working properly at peak efficiency.
- Aid in coordinating repairs with maintenance and following up on these items.
- Coordinate kits loads to the plant from the receiving distribution center. Assists in overseeing tanker loads and offloading.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety
What You Need to Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
- Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Production environment is preferred, but not required.
- Forklift certification
Job Setting
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must abide by all GMP requirements while on the production floor.
Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 60lbs.
- Extended standing on hard surfaces.
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Occasionally exposed to working on elevated platforms, confined spaces, with fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic/caustic chemicals, and his pressure steam.
- Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
