Role

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of health and social care professionals? We are seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment that empowers students to achieve their full potential.

As a Health and Social Care lecturer, you’ll be based at Hugh Baird College’s Healthcare Campus, a state of the art facility designed to simulate real-world healthcare environments. 

This campus is a Centre of Industry Excellence and benefits from strong partnerships with NHS Foundation Trusts and private providers, offering students enriched learning through guest speakers, placements, and career pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of Health and Social Care courses. 
  • Provide constructive feedback and support learner progress. 
  • Supervise practical activities and work placements. 
  •  Use technology and innovative teaching methods to support independent learning. 
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement. 
  • Support students’ wellbeing and promote a positive learning environment. 
  • Participate in college events, employer engagement, and open days.

Criteria

  • Relevant Level 3 vocational qualification.
  • PGCE/Certificate of Education or equivalent.
  • Industry-related experience in Health and Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of subject matter and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners.
  • Competent in using technology for teaching and assessment.
  • High expectations of self and others, with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
