Purpose and Mission
To control and co-ordinate the day-to-day electrically biased activities within the Maintenance and Engineering Department. With the goal to deliver a cost effective, efficient Maintenance service - Attend Production/ Maintenance planning meetings, give a daily instruction and guidance to Maintenance Ops, plan for shutdowns and plant outages.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Support attainment of Site manufacturing/cost KPI targets through the delivery of effective Electrical Maintenance.
• Attend Production/Planning meetings to report and co-ordinate Maintenance activities.
• Use the Agility maintenance reporting system to plan and record maintenance activities.
• Management of electrical biased compliance activities. Liaising with peers in the department (Reliability Engineer & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer) to ensure compliance with statutory/Company regulatory requirements. Example activities would include:
- Fixed wiring Test & Inspection
- CCTV
- Air Con Maintenance
- Motor/Pump PPM servicing
- Vibration analysis
- Thermocouple maintenance
• Undertake Maintenance improvement activities to improve equipment uptime and reduce quality defects.
• Support Capital Improvement/Compliance projects by providing electrically biased expertise/knowledge to assist in their delivery.
• Work in conjunction with peers in the Maintenance & Engineering Department to lead annual Shutdown activities and breakdown reinstatement.
• Give instruction and support to direct reports, offer coaching to lesser experienced staff and assist with training and development.
• Provide instruction and supervision to safely manage Site works working within Legal/Company frameworks and policy; Permit to Work, Approved Contractors, LOTOTO etc.

• Ability to provide leadership with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communicator – verbally and written.
• Work within time and financial constraints to successfully deliver Projects
• Lead a team giving direction and to collaborate across different departments within the organisation
• Planning and organising works often within breakdown and short lead-time scenarios
Previous Experience
• Experience of working with industrial control systems is essential, preferably time-served with an industrial background is desired, with knowledge of the following;
- AC & DC motors and Variable Speed Drive technology
- Knowledge and understanding PLC, HMI’s & industrial communication networks
- General Control Panel components and operation
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Understand 3 Phase electrical systems and controls
- Knowledge of instrumentation & thermocouples
Qualifications and Education
• Educated to at least HNC/HND level and ideally degree level in an Engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of operating design software packages e.g. AutoCAD 2D
• Experience working within SHE Frameworks
• Proficient with MS software
