Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our oral surgery team. In this role, you will provide expert anesthesia care for patients undergoing oral and maxillofacial procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes before, during, and after surgery. As a key member of the surgical team, you will bring advanced clinical expertise and a patient-centered approach to anesthesia management. This would be 10-15 hours a week.


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct preoperative assessments, including reviewing medical history, evaluating patient risk factors, and developing individualized anesthesia plans. 
  • Administer local, IV, and general anesthesia safely and effectively for oral surgery procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician collaboration. 
  • Monitor patients continuously throughout the preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative stages, adjusting anesthesia as needed to maintain patient safety and comfort. 
  • Manage airway, vital signs, and critical interventions during procedures, anticipating and responding to complications or emergencies. 
  • Collaborate closely with oral surgeons, RNs, and surgical staff to ensure seamless perioperative workflow and optimal patient care. 
  • Maintain accurate and complete anesthesia records and documentation in compliance with facility policies, legal requirements, and accreditation standards. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety, and patient privacy protocols (HIPAA/OSHA). 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient education, and post-anesthesia care instructions. 

Requirements

  • Active CRNA license in the state of practice. 
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an acute or critical care setting (e.g., Med-Surg, ICU, Surgery) prior to CRNA training. 
  • Strong IV insertion, airway management, and advanced anesthesia skills. 
  • BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred if treating pediatric patients. 
  • Highly detail-oriented, reliable, and patient-focused with excellent clinical judgment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with surgical teams.
