Department Overview
Position Summary
This position assesses, coordinates, and meets the organization's needs through volunteer support, programming, and distribution of amenities and resources in an equitable and efficient manner. The role includes program implementation, process improvement, and ongoing coordination of patient and family services such as Volunteer Services, the Resource Ambassador program, bedside amenities, leisure activities, the Clothes Closet, the Book Nook Program, equity and inclusion initiatives, Children's Observer Program, and more. This role supports resources and programs through screening, placement, supervision, and retention of volunteers, while providing a supportive and energizing environment to those community members who give their time and talents to Children's.

License/Certification/Registration required? No
Education:
*4-year degree in social services, human resources, child development, or other applicable degree and/or applicable experience. Or a current Children's employee trained and promoted within the organization following a career development track.
Experience:
*1-year experience in volunteer services/human services and/or 1 year in volunteer/student intern management in a healthcare setting preferred
*Experience in training preferred
*Experience participating on multi-disciplinary teams preferred
*Experience working in a hospital setting preferred
*Experience working with hospitalized families preferred
*Experience in speaking to groups, leading special events and/or coordinating events preferred
*Experience in child development preferred
*Experience in working in family support services (i.e. Family Resource Center, Family Center) or equivalent preferred
*Experience coordinating programs preferred
*Bilingual preferred
*Experience and/or training in equity and inclusion work preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Conflict management
*Detail-oriented and organized
*Able to track multiple priorities
*Cultural sensitivity and understanding
*Good listening and communication (written and oral) skills
*Intermediate Office 365
*Familiarity with volunteer management databases preferred

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
