Production Lead

Summary:  

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the fabrication and assembly workflow and schedule, supervising and training production staff, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment while successfully meeting workflow demands. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.  

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by instructing and monitoring production employees’ work practices and conformance with procedures and company policies. Ensure all documentation is filled in consistently and accurately.
  • Provide guidance to production staff to achieve daily production targets and customer delivery requirements. 
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisor to establish work schedules, place team members and determine staffing needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with Production Supervisor to report any deviations to daily plans or concerns related to safety, quality, machines, processes, materials, etc.
  • Perform basic equipment and process failure analysis and act accordingly. 
  • Actively participate in a variety of daily meetings and facilitate daily shift start meetings.
  • Perform quality checks during shifts to assure compliance with quality standards throughout all production operations. 
  • Ensure adequate levels of materials and/or consumables are available and order supplies as needed.
  • Be involved with all levels of training for production staff, including conducting training and reviewing weekly progress. Assist Production Supervisor with evaluating training progress and completion. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, including 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.

Qualifications: 

  • High school degree or equivalent; technical degree desired.
  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience with 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; knowledge of IFS is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with an entrepreneurial mindset to contribute to excellence in manufacturing.
  • Ability to drive a forklift or complete training to obtain forklift license.
  • Basic reading and comprehension skills. 
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Understanding of production schedules and demand and delivery.
