Food Service Leader – Concessions (Part-Time)

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. The Toledo Zoo is currently seeking a Food Services Leader. The Food Services Leader coordinates activities and operations of all food service areas. Come and be a part of an organization where you can work and have fun at the same time. Our Food Services team is in search of people who are passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. This position is a non-exempt, part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This role will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations for our Concessions team. In this role, you will lead and motivate a team of Food Service Associates, ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and food safety. You’ll be responsible for training staff, managing inventory and orders, preparing event setups, and keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is someone who can lead by example, communicate effectively, organized, professional and proactive.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Prefer 1-2 years of experience in food service supervision or an equivalent combination of culinary training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Certification in food service sanitation a plus.
- Candidates must be able to take direction, work independently and multi-task.
- Strong customer service and communication skills are a plus.
- Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be outdoors for several hours at a time.
- Work schedules include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
