AMECO is looking to hire an experienced Industrial/Equipment Painter to work out of our Harrison, OH facility. As an Industrial/Equipment Painter, you will be responsible for refurbishing and painting heavy equipment for all company operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs all prep, painting, and steam cleaning responsibilities.
- Prep work requires using dual action orbital sand and performing detail-oriented masking
- Properly removes/returns pieces within the equipment (pins, seats, books etc.), while performing all facets of preparing equipment to be painted (scrape, decal removal, blasting and masking).
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all paint processes, basic soaps, and chemicals.
- Performs proper set-up and maintenance care of paint equipment.
- Ensures correct equipment color/mixing of paint, while documenting/tracking paint usage.
- Preps/paints various types of equipment, utilizing the most efficient and productive approach.
- Locate and size all decals.
- Performs final quality check.
- Keeps tools and equipment in good working condition, requiring basic preventive maintenance inspections and corrective measures on assigned equipment (blaster, DA’s, spray guns, etc.).
- Safely operate forklift and other lifting equipment.
- Works from drawings, sketches, specifications, and instruction manuals, as required.
- Maintains service logs and maintenance records. Properly track parts and inventory, while providing accurate documentation (i.e., timecards and service reports).
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Follows all paint related to hazardous waste storage, handling, and removal guidelines.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety procedures and rules, including wearing the required personal safety equipment.
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with internal/external customers.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must maintain daily and open lines of communication with management.
- Completes jobs in a timely manner, maintaining maximum productivity.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of prior industrial/equipment paint experience
- Dual action
- Experience in heavy equipment painting and refurbishment, preferred
- General knowledge of various painting/refurbishment processes
- Able to safely operate and maintain a forklift certification
- Effective problem solving, with ability to provide workable solutions
- Attentive to detail, along with strong follow-up skills
- Able to work independently, with little direction, self-reliant
- Must be flexible and able to change focus as priorities dictate
- Solid mathematical abilities/aptitude
- Committed to quality and service excellence, safety conscious
- Given the fast work pace and manual labor demands, individuals must be in good physical condition and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to routinely lifting 60 pounds, climbing, standing for extended periods of time.

Based on the type of equipment we work on, the job is physical and labor intensive, i.e., heavy lifting, climbing on equipment. Individuals will be required to frequently sit/drive stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, talk, hear, climb step ladder, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination. Close vision is required for this job. Position frequently demands light to heavy physical work. All positions require standing over 90% of the day.

Various levels of environmental conditions include but are not limited to working outdoors in the varying elements, shop, project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space. Conditions include exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; high/precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
Role involves working alone and collaborating as part of a team. Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
Travel/Other Requirements: Availability as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls, necessary overtime as the workload dictates.
