General Summary:Do you want a career where you can combine public safety with protecting community spaces? As a Parks Deputy, you’ll enforce laws, ensure public safety, and respond to emergencies across Oakland County parks while making a difference in the lives of residents and visitors.

What You’ll Do
- Enforce state laws and local ordinances within Oakland County parks.
- Investigate complaints regarding accidents, property damage, and disturbances.
- Answer emergency calls related to illness, injury, fire, or disruptions to park operations.
- Provide first aid and first response firefighting services until specialized units arrive.
- Respond to emergencies and assist in making arrests when necessary.
- Supervise trusty (inmate) work details assigned inside the parks.
- Utilize countywide and department-specific software to complete reports and assignments.
- Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
- Must maintain firearms qualification and deputy status.
- A field investigation will be conducted covering an evaluation of employment, school, home, credit criminal, military or other personal records. Any conviction or convictions for moving traffic violations, accidents, non-moving traffic violations, or violations of other laws will be reviewed by the Sheriff’s Office before an applicant can be appointed. Information obtained during the background investigation will be considered in the hiring decision. Convictions of the Domestic Violence Statute will be a disqualifying factor.
