We are looking for a System Operations Leader to join our Gas Operations team at Centric. This position would lead a team of system operations technicians across all Texas markets, triage leak calls and issues, and maintain company equipment
We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused leader to manage a team of eight System Operations Technicians across our Texas markets. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our natural gas systems safe, reliable, and ready to serve our communities — from metering and regulation stations to SCADA equipment and system operations. As part of our Gas Operations leadership team, you’ll collaborate closely with peers to deliver projects on time and on budget, while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork. General

- Ensure that all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

- Collaborate closely with other members of the Project Management Department to ensure that all commitments and requirements are clearly understood.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Accountable for the safety and quality of gas system operations across all Centric projects and locations.
- Ensures that department has sufficient staff who are appropriately trained and qualified to accomplish assigned projects (working with HR and Safety/Training).
- Responsible for developing yearly department budget necessary to meet operational obligations.
- Responsible for station equipment specifications and providing same to Supply Chain group, along with procurement schedule, to meet project requirements.
- Responsible for developing and implementing a system of advance planning, design, and procurement to ensure gas transmission and metering / regulation systems are in a "ready status" on-time and on budget.
- Accountable for maintenance and operation of all metering & regulator stations, and city gate stations across all Centric projects and locations.
- Accountable for timely execution of all regulatory inspections and testing of facilities.
- Accountable for installation and monitoring of all SCADA equipment.
- Coordinates with Engineering Department design group relative to new and/or current City Gate and Regulator Stations, odorization requirements, cathodic protection systems, pressure relief capacities, system load analysis, designing measurement/communication requirements, and any large Industrial/commercial metering facilities.
- Accountable for the maintenance of gas station/pipeline ROW's, i.e., signs, fencing, mowing, washouts, and skid upgrades/replacement, etc.
- Ensures all Railroad Commission required paperwork is submitted to Regulatory and Compliance Departments when required for maintenance and station installation and/or modification.
- Ensures emergency response readiness, planning, and on call schedule, is coordinated with other departments and all relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience in related operational gas transmission and/or distribution roles.
- Familiarity with PE and steel systems, and design / operation of city gates, metering and regulation stations and SCADA equipment, including holding relevant OQs.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team located in multiple locations.
