We're seeking a highly motivated Water Resources Staff Engineer to join our team in the vibrant mountain town of Bozeman, MT. WGM Group is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary engineering firm including planning, design, survey, environmental and natural resource management with office locations in Bozeman, Kalispell, and Missoula. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and implementing innovative solutions to complex water resource challenges. We are looking for a part-time or full-time candidate with a strong background in engineering, environmental science, and data analysis.
Role & Responsibilities
You'll be a vital member of our team, tackling a variety of projects related to water quality and quantity, you will:
- Develop and design water infrastructure, including treatment wetlands, stormwater management systems, and drainage networks. This involves producing detailed calculations and engineering drawings.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
- Provide support to the project team to produce project documents such as plan sets, technical reports, and feasibility studies. Coordinate and review work with project managers.
- Design and execute experiments and sampling plans. Conduct scientific field investigations related to water quality.
- Perform statistical data analysis such as water quality, watershed, and nutrient fate and transport analysis. Perform greenhouse gas emissions and wastewater system energy use calculations.
- Ensure all designs and projects adhere to regulatory and company standards. Assist in preparing permit applications.
Qualifications
As a valued member of our engineering team, at a minimum, you will have a:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree.
- Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- Strong knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and wastewater treatment systems, greenhouse gas measurement and calculation.
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and hydrologic principles with proficiency in modeling software such as HEC-RAS.
- Experience in statistical analysis and programming languages.
- Experience with GIS and spatial data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
