Overview
The Methods & Processes Specialist will lead the creation, standardization, and continual improvement of internal technical documentation across the Cypress Creek Solutions business. This includes developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance methods, fault handling & troubleshooting guides, and best practices. This role is essential to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across Cypress Creek’s managed assets.
This role requires a technically inclined writer who can synthesize information from field technicians, SCADA/EMS teams, OEM manuals, and engineering personnel into clear, concise, and actionable documents; these documents must be written for multiple audiences, including field technicians, operations engineers, and regional field leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and maintain:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Fault response protocols
- Preventive and corrective maintenance instructions
- Troubleshooting guides for field and control center teams
- Change control and commissioning workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, SCADA, Performance Engineering, and HSSE teams to ensure alignment of documentation with actual site needs and regulatory requirements (e.g. NERC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other relevant standards as applicable)
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) including field technicians, engineers, and OEM representatives to extract process knowledge
- Maintain document control standards: version tracking, revision logs, approvals, and storage in central Document Management System (DMS)
- Continuously assess for efficacy, incorporating field & technical feedback into improvement of existing documentation
- Support onboarding and training by helping develop materials and templates
- Contribute to and uphold change management policies related to operational process changes
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) documentation and incorporate learnings into operational guidance
Education & Experience Required
- 3–5+ years developing, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, or technical documentation in an industrial, utility, or energy environment
- Strong background in document control standards: version tracking, approvals, revision logs, and maintaining centralized Document Management Systems (DMS)
- Exposure to preventive and corrective maintenance documentation and troubleshooting guides for field or control center operations

Location: The preferred location for this role is Durham, NC. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office schedule of three days per week.
