Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Employee Safety Coordinator to join our Safety Department. This administrative role focuses on ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and internal safety policies by supporting all areas of our operations and office staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while promoting a culture of safety and accountability across the organization. This role plays a key part in helping to reduce workplace incidents and fostering a culture of safety among all employees. What we look for:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or related field or experience in lieu of
- 1-2 years of previous experience in a safety, compliance, or administrative assistant support role is required, preferably in a distribution, logistics, or industrial setting
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong computer skills and a high level of comfort using various software programs
- Ability to establish rapport and interact effectively with employees across the organization
What you’ll do:
- Process and organize incoming DOT Verification of Employment (VOE) requests
- Distribute and track completion of weekly and monthly safety training
- Maintain safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident logs, compliance reports and OSHA documentation
- Document and maintain files for incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Schedule employee medical appointments such as injury, DOT physicals and drug screens
- Maintain and monitor driver license and DOT medical card compliance list
- Manage random driver drug and alcohol testing pool, scheduling, and documentation
- Audit driver qualification files to ensure DOT compliance
