Responsibilities
- To do the most complicated and congested work on energized primary conductors and equipment with continuous direction.
- To perform replacing street light heads on underground street light poles.
- To direct the work of others assisting and to perform less skilled work as directed and to see that all Good Housekeeping and Safety Rules are followed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6months of experience as Line Technician 1st Class or the equivalent and all qualifications of lower grades.
- Must have ability to supervise and lead others. Required
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the layout and characteristics of all electric lines in the area to which assigned. Required
- Must be able to connect polyphase transformer installations and other electrical equipment and should have a general understanding of phasing and phase rotation on polyphase circuits. Required
- Must have the required license to drive and operate aerial equipment. Required
- Must successfully pass a written and practical hands on skills evaluation to display proficiency in the classification they have completed to progress to 1st Class HV. Required
- Must be in sound physical condition. Required
- This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by the Department of Transportation. Required
- Driver's License Required
