Description of Duties:
Objectives of this Role:
The Social Services Technician for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program plays a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position involves providing comprehensive social services, coordinating care, and ensuring clients receive the necessary support to achieve recovery goals. The technician acts as a liaison between clients, healthcare providers, and community resources, facilitating a holistic approach to treatment and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' social, emotional, and environmental needs. Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and clients. Provide counseling and support to clients, addressing barriers to treatment adherence and recovery. Assist clients in accessing community resources such as housing, employment, legal aid, and mental health services. Monitor client progress and document interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately. Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, and recovery strategies. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure medication compliance and address side effects or concerns. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and program policies. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to client information.
Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience in a social services-related position; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Tech 2 (SST011) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or in social services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Understanding of MAT protocols and addiction treatment principles. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
