Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and/or repair company facilities, equipment, bus shelters, and other assets. The incumbent performs repairs and routine maintenance duties on equipment and tools. The incumbent in this class performs under the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Manager. 

This position’s responsibilities include:

  • Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Identified maintenance risks on equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance
  • Handles basic repairs and maintenance
  • Oversees contractors when professional repairs are necessary 
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
  • Repairs machines, equipment or structures as necessary
  • Inspects electrical systems and adjusts or repairs as necessary. Install new outlets and replace switches, ballasts, light bulbs, fixtures, etc.
  • Assists in inspections of the heating and air conditioning systems and adjusts or repairs, as necessary. Changes filters, set thermostats, cleans coils, etc. 
  • Inspects plumbing systems and makes minor repairs.
  • Inspects various mechanical equipment. Checks for damaged parts, clean nozzles, lubricates parts, etc.
  • Inspects CNG station, bus shelters, and generators makes repairs as needed.
  • Performs minor repairs to furniture, door hinges, and locks.
  • Paints or performs some carpentry work, e.g. building shelves, as required.
  • Rearrange office furniture and move boxes for office personnel.
  • Assembles furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Set up booths and materials for Trinity Metro events. Cleans up afterward if needed

 

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL PAY

2nd Shift $2.00 per hour (shifts starting a 1 pm or later)

3rd Shift $3.00 per hour (shifts starting at 10 pm or later)

Weekend Any Shifts $4.00 per hour (shifts with a start time that begins on a Saturday or Sunday)

EXPERIENCE

Two years of journeyman experience or equivalent in general building maintenance or trades including a combination of the following: electrical work, HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

EDUCATION 

High school graduate or G.E.D

Two years of education or training, or an Associate’s Degree, in facilities maintenance or specialized trade is a plus. 

A Journeyman license is a plus.
