The Farm Shop Manager provides overall leadership, strategy, and supervision of the Los Poblanos Farm Shop. As a pivotal role within the guest and team experience, this position collaborates across multiple departments—including hospitality, culinary, farming, events, and marketing—to ensure the Farm Shop reflects the mission, values, and vision of Los Poblanos. Responsibilities include team leadership, profitability, expense control, merchandising, compliance, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Job Summary:

Provide overall management and supervision of the Farm Shop. Responsible for all critical business decisions including team member hiring, development, and terminations. Also responsible for profitability, expense control, merchandising standards, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong floor presence to assist in customer service, while modeling a hands-on, servant leadership style.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with the Director of Retail Operations and all Los Poblanos retail outlet managers and merchants’ leadership team.  
  • Maintain a creative store layout, product merchandising, and daily retail execution in support of Los Poblanos vision.
  • Foster and model a culture of outstanding customer service and hospitality.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and development of team members to sustain a high performing, engaged, and collaborative team.
  • Provide clear and accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including analysis of trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Los Poblanos ownership, culinary, farm, hospitality and event teams to ensure retail storytelling aligns with the broader Los Poblanos experience.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes inclusion, accountability, and team success.
  • Consistently communicate and model Los Poblanos' vision and goals. 
  • Partner with other departments to create in-store activations, events, and storytelling opportunities that enhance the guest experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct sales, marketing, and customer service activities with a guest-first mindset.
  • Create and foster a culture of selling with the Farm Shop team. 
  • Stay informed on product knowledge, farm-to-retail storytelling, and brand history to engage and educate guests.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and sales data to recommend adjustments to product assortment and strategy.
  • Establish interpersonal business relationships to facilitate work activities.
  • Monitor inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Represent Los Poblanos in external partnerships, vendor relationships, and community engagement.
  • Provide consistent coaching and feedback to develop team skills, build confidence, and encourage career growth.
  • Resolve customer complaints or problems.
  • Maintain records of sales or other business transactions.
  • Reconcile records of sales or other financial transactions. 
  • Manage all invoices and deposits. 
  • Maintain an open dialogue and relationship with our finance team. 
  • Prepare financial documents, reports, or budgets.
  • Review laws or regulations to maintain professional knowledge.
  • Maintain and implement correct SOPs in Farm Shop. 
  • Evaluate employee performance with quarterly reviews. New hires will receive 45- & 90-day check-ins to evaluate performance.

Requirements

  • Enthusiastic about Los Poblanos’ mission, values, and vision, with a passion for hospitality, sustainability, and community.
  • Minimum of three years’ retail management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and mentor with humility and empathy.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems i.e. damages, spoilage and cash drawer accuracy. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex team dynamics.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Able to grasp, lift, carry. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day.
  • Must be willing and can work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
