Position Overview

We are seeking an Aerospace Direct Recruiter. The ideal candidate will source, screen, interview, and place candidates for a variety of roles in our Midland, TX location, such as engineering, manufacturing, and technical trades. This role requires a solid understanding of the industry, familiarity with regulations (such as ITAR), and the ability to build strong candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill and highly specialized positions. The direct recruiter also collaborates closely with hiring managers to understand department needs and ensure a positive candidate experience. 

Key responsibilities

  • Talent acquisition strategy: Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans to meet organizational hiring goals.
  • Full-cycle recruiting: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting to offer negotiation.
  • Sourcing: Proactively source candidates using a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, industry networks, and referrals, direct headhunting i.e LinkedIn, Universities and Colleges, job fairs, and participle in Chamber of Commerce.
  • Collaboration with hiring managers: Partner with department leaders to define job requirements, write compelling job descriptions, and provide updates on recruiting progress.
  • Candidate management: Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Compliance and security: Ensure all hiring practices comply with industry regulations and manage security clearance processes when necessary.
  • Employer branding: Promote the company's culture and career opportunities to attract top talent partnering with our marketing department and Corporate Recruiter currently located in Lehman, Fl.
  • Reporting: Track and report on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill and pipeline health, to measure effectiveness. 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Professional Recruiter (CPR) – Recruiting & Staffing Solutions
    • Focus: Recruitment cycle, candidate engagement, and legal compliance.
    • Good for entry- to mid-level recruiters.
  • LinkedIn Certified Professional – Recruiter
    • Focus: Effective sourcing, pipeline building, and recruiting strategy using LinkedIn.
    • Especially relevant for recruiters in competitive industries like aerospace.
  • Technical/Specialized Certifications
  • AIRS Certifications (by ADP)
    • Popular technical sourcing certifications for recruiters in engineering, aerospace, IT, etc.
    • Options include:
    • Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter (CDR)
    • Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter (CSSR)
    • Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR)
  • Certified Recruitment Professional (CRP) – Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)
    • More common in the UK but increasingly recognized globally.
  • Aerospace Industry Awareness Training
    • Offered by platforms like Coursera, edX, or AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics).
  • Recruiters can learn terminology, roles (e.g., avionics, propulsion), and industry structure.
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Courses
  • Experience: Proven recruiting experience within the aerospace, aviation, or defense industries, with a focus on technical roles.
  • Technical knowledge: Understanding of aerospace industry roles, technologies, and terminology.
  • Compliance knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations such as ITAR and security protocols.
  • ATS proficiency: Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruiting software. (Greenhouse is currently being used)
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. The ability to manage multiple requisitions and deadlines efficiently.
