Resident Support Specialist II
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday; 8:00am to 4:00pm
Resident Support Specialist II Responsibilities:
- Develop supportive and motivational relationships with residents ensuring an atmosphere of safety, security and responsible care for residents while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries
- Assist residents in maintaining clean and orderly apartments by collaborating on housekeeping tasks
- Assist residents in preparing nutritious meals including meal planning, grocery shopping, preparing meals, supporting around food storage, etc.
- Facilitate regular individual or group activities related to independent living skills and community engagement
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to support residents in crisis and provide follow-up.
- Coordinate support for residents with Community Integration Coordinators, Resident Support Specialist I, community partners, and others on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in team meetings on a weekly basis and agency trainings on an ongoing basis.
Resident Support Specialist II Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License required
- Experience supporting adults with mental illness strongly preferred
- Experience supporting adults with substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders preferred
- Experience supporting adults who have experienced long-term homelessness preferred
- Classes in psychology, counseling, or social work helpful
- Experience providing Independent Living Skills strongly preferred
