Overall Purpose of the Job
As a Maintenance Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our oilfield tools and equipment. You'll work in a well-equipped shop setting, utilizing your mechanical and electronic expertise to rebuild and maintain various oilfield tools.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
- The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance functions such as repairs, assembly, and disassembly of equipment; completes all paperwork in accordance with the current QA maintenance program. All work is to be completed in a skilled, professional, and safe manner under some supervision.
- Responsible for the cleaning of equipment utilizing parts cleaner and or steam cleaner.
- Willingness to train others and has no problem following orders. Recognizes and communicates the need for shop tools, spare parts, and equipment.
- Under some supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs, and assembly/disassembly of equipment in a safe and professional manner; able to test such equipment and maintain testing equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to and from any location with use of non-CDL vehicles.
- Able to take consistent measurements that are accurate to the tenth.
- Promotes safety awareness, environmental consciousness, and complies with all policies, applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Attending required training as deemed necessary by job duties, Training, Operations, Safety, Quality etc.
- May be required to drive a forklift.
- General Shop work, using basic hand tools, grinders, and other tools.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
PREFERRED:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
One to two (1-2) years’ oilfield experience preferred.
Knowledge of oil field rental tools and experience in oil field equipment maintenance.
REQUIRED:
The ability to use basic math skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Good working knowledge of tools and good mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to work in a shop environment.
Effectively communicates mechanical problems to shop leadership and assists in diagnosing and repairing issue(s).
Ability to meet physical demands of job duties and work effectively in a high paced work flow.
Must be able to speak, read, write English well enough to read technical documents and effectively communicate with team members.
Maintains a positive, can-do attitude and treats others with dignity and respect.
Self-motivated and applies a strong work ethic by using time and resources effectively.
Preferred: Live within 50 miles of the employer’s location and have reliable transportation to report for work on time and according to the established work schedule.
Valid driver’s license.
Be available as needed on-call outside of regular schedule within 1 hour of call-out.
Satisfactory results of pre-employment screening (ie background, drug/alcohol, physical).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
Requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and exertion of force up to 50 lbs.
Ability to see objects close, afar, and use peripheral vision is required.
Ability to hear and take verbal direction over loud ambient noises is imperative for the safe execution of job duties. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noises.
