POSITION TITLE: Youth Resilience & Wellness Coach
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: VP of Health & Wellness
SALARY/FLSA STATUS: Exempt – Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Youth Resilience & Wellness Coach supports the creation and delivery of life skills, emotional and behavioral learning, and trauma-informed wellness programming across assigned Boys & Girls Club sites. This position helps reduce stigma around mental health, identify and support youth with behavioral or emotional challenges, and empower youth to make informed choices that support their overall well-being.
This role also serves as a coach and trainer to Club staff, providing professional development and modeling trauma-informed strategies that foster safer, more supportive Club environments. While the position is not clinical, it plays a key role in helping youth and families navigate systems of care and access needed services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver training and ongoing coaching for staff on trauma-informed practices, wellness, resilience, and behavior support strategies.
- Maintain current certifications and participate in required professional development.
- Collaborate with Club and organizational leadership to expand mental health and wellness resources.
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate youth wellness and resilience programs.
- Develop individualized behavior guidance plans in partnership with Club leadership.
- Provide structured supports (e.g., calm-down corners, resilience tools) to help youth practice self-regulation.
- Recognize and reinforce youth progress in resilience, decision-making, and emotional growth.
- Lead family engagement events and workshops at assigned Clubs.
- Maintain and strengthen referral networks with culturally competent service providers.
- Coordinate guest speakers and community partners to deliver wellness programming.
- Communicate regularly with caregivers and schools to ensure continuity of support.
- Partner with Club leadership to assess staff and youth support needs.
- Provide direct crisis support and intervention during escalated youth behaviors.
- Deliver case management services, including assessment, referrals, and documentation.
- Track participation and outcomes in wellness initiatives through designated systems.
- Contribute to the development of annual wellness calendars and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (required); Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working directly with youth in behavioral health, wellness and resilience, or trauma-informed settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, trauma, behavioral challenges, and emotional and behavioral learning.
- Experience designing and delivering effective trainings and engaging, age-appropriate programs
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and motivate youth and staff.
- Knowledge of adult learning styles and staff development best practices.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record; eligible to drive Club vehicles.
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities and grant funders throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco County for training and/or other business purposes.
