Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Engineering Manager in Houma, Louisiana.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager position provides direct supervision of engineering personnel to produce engineering designs and documentation in accordance with OSI and customer requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Organize and prepare weekly engineering department work plan.
  • Plan and coordinate work with department supervisors and engineers.
  • Prepare and assign product engineering responsibilities
  • Technical sales correspondence such as reviewing customer specifications and purchase orders.
  • Review technical aspects of sales order for standard products.
  • Approve and check bill-of-materials, drawings, procedures and calculations.
  • Attend product/manufacturing production meeting and staff meetings.
  • Layout/design custom or non-standard products.
  • Production training.
  • Manufacturing interfacing; troubleshooting and disposition of non-conformances.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Director of Engineering.

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BMSE with minimum 5 years management experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and statistics.
  • Knowledge of measurement computations and material properties.
  • Ability to manage complex multiple tasks, manage personnel and make design and material decisions.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software (CAD, MathCad, MS Word, Excel, Access).
  • Previous work experience or on-the-job training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prolonged sitting.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Some lifting, bending, kneeling and climbing.
