Special Needs Assistant - Wright City, OK

$14.50 Hourly | Full Time | 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position. 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Special Needs Assistant, you will assist children with a disability and developmental delay in every aspect of daily care. You will report to the Center Supervisor.

 

Primary Tasks:

  1. You will monitor children's activity to always ensure safety.
  2. Assist children with personal care and hygiene care.
  3. Assist children with feeding and teaching self-help skills.
  4. Assist teaching staff in implementing curriculum and individualized goals for the child with a disability to promote growth and learning in all developmental areas.
  5. You will promote communication, play and socialization between a child with a disability and other children in the classroom.
  6. Assist children with gross motor activities such as grasping, holding objects, posture, crawling, walking, and running; assist children with fine motor activities such as playing with toys, cutting materials, or drawing.
  7. Work with individual children and in small groups.
  8. Attend IFSP & IEP meetings, when needed.
  9. Administer Medication when needed.
  10. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

     

Job Requirements:

·         Willing to obtain a Paraprofessional Certification or Specialized work-related credential

·         Some prior experience working with children that have a special need
