COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.
Lead Applications Analyst| Pay Range: $109,500.00 - $142,250.00
Senior Applications Analyst| Pay Range: $85,800.00 - $109,450.00

Are you ready to make an impact in the world of energy and technology? The IT Markets team at Southwest Power Pool plays a critical role in keeping the bulk electric grid and wholesale power markets running smoothly across our footprint. We’re looking for a skilled Applications Analyst to join our team and help optimize the performance and efficiency of our mission-critical systems.
As a key member of the IT Markets team, you’ll collaborate with experts across IT, support real-time Market Operating Systems, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Your work will directly support operations that have significant economic impact and ensure the safety and reliability of the grid—making every day both challenging and rewarding.
What You’ll Do:
Provide enterprise-level expertise across assigned applications and technical areas.
Lead the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of critical application systems.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to customer-reported issues promptly and effectively.
Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
Navigate complex, highly integrated systems with strong problem-solving skills.
Understand the business and technical requirements of your applications and how they interact with other systems.
Engage in all phases of SDLC and project lifecycles, including requirements gathering, design, testing, release deployment, and implementation coordination.
Create and maintain thorough technical documentation.

To be successful as an IT Applications Analyst, we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology-related field or equivalent experience
- Lead: Ten (10) years of applicable experience in Information Technology Development and/or Support
related roles or a combination of technical experience and leadership experience
- Senior: Six (6) years of applicable Information Technology application administration and support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience or a combination of technical experience and leadership experience
Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, UNIX or Linux operating systems, application development and support, and database management systems
Expert troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
Expert written and oral communication skills
Expert working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
Expertise in scripting, SQL, deciphering error and event logs, data analysis.
Preferred:
- Five (5) or more years applicable utility industry experience
- Comprehensive understanding of SPP’s core business model
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours may be required. Job requires managing staff working rotating shift schedules with long hours.
Travel Requirement:
This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
